Convoying System

The Innovatic convoying system for LC3000 has been developed for those who want the maximum production from they're plant, and are only satisfied with the absolute best. The system has everything, which our competitors can only dream about - and a little bit more! It is a standard system, where the LC3000 modules are just connected together so that it corresponds to the process flow. No programming is needed! The modules may be connected by any electrician, which among other things makes the system very suited for export and "do-it-yourself" jobs. It is not more difficult to control a big, ramified process plant than a small one, and the standard system can handle complicated tasks like "flying shift" between convoying lines and reversed shutdown at chain conveyers. The total system behaves like one big neural network, with a unique "intelligence" and time optimization; which totally outperforms anything else on the marked.

There is no need for a protracted and expensive test. The plant is ready for use as soon as the modules are connected, and the result is always a well thought out and consistent system, which may be handed over in time - without "child diseases"!

With an Innovatic control you know what you get!

As all modules may be switched over one by one between automatic and manual control, even very big rebuildings may be done in stages without stopping the production. It is neither necessary to stop major parts of the process because of minor process errors which requires manual intervention. Both parts have very big influence on the economy and cause a very short payback time. Besides there are two levels of manual control - with and without lock-ups. In this way the plant may be controlled precisely, as you wishes, and as this facility is also used for one by one alarm acknowledgement, no alarms are overlooked.

The system contains a previously unknown degree of integration between the various control modes. It keeps track of which conveyers are available for automatic control and reserves the elements. Change from automatic to manual operation is of course bumpless, but as something quite unique the system also enables bumpless change the other way!

The control system is based on a traditional mosaic-tile panel. Such a panel is more expensive than computer monitors, but it has some conclusive advantages, which at least payback the additional costs in the long run.

  • It has a direct connection to the process through the LC3000 module. This ensures a very high reliability and failure tolerance. There is no risk of standing with a "black process" without control.

  • It shows the whole process plant in one view, this is extremely important for two reasons:

    • It gets easy to get a general view over the production and detect expensive "bottle-necks".

    • A good process overview is of vital importance for manual control - especially if the lock-ups are switched off. All manually controlled units must be continuously visible. On many computer monitor based system manual control is practical impossible.

  • It is much faster and easier to operate than a computer monitor - especially in stressed situations, and there is an immediate response from the process. Many persons may even operate it at the same time, which facilitates rebuilding and handling of error situations.

  • It is possible to rebuild the panel without stopping the production.

  • It is possible to stick "yellow" notes and warnings on the panel. This is especially practical with more shifts, and may even prevent accidents.

  • In the long run it is a lot more pleasant to look at than a computer monitor. Tired screen-eyes give tired and inattentive personal.

  • A mosaic-tile panel indicates process-states with colored light with high intensity. This is not possible on a computer monitor, where it is necessary to utilize a color change. Light indication is however a great advantage for several reasons:

    • The eye is much more sensitive to changes in light intensity than changes in color. A flashing lamp is immediately recognized, but it is easy to overlook a change in color - especially on small objects. In our control system flashing is used to signal that attention is required. Because of the integrated lamp supervision we have been able to remove the traditional, but confusing light indication for auto and stop, so that it is easy to see which units are activated.

    • It becomes possible to enhance the overview by color-coding the various process parts - maybe so that it fits with the process elements themselves. However on a computer monitor it is necessary to show the whole process plant in a gray-scale, so that the process states becomes visible.

    • The high light intensity makes the panel sunlight readable. This enables a good working environment.
With an Innovatic control the human being is at the center as the master over the technique - not the opposite!
